Reverse:
In the centre of the medal are two olive branches which separates the English and French inscription, IN SERVICE OF PEACE AND FREEDOM. Along the edge are the English and French words for NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION.

Ribbon:
Five vertical stripes in alternating blue and white. In the centre of each white stripe is a narrow silver stripe.

Bar:
Bears the inscription ISAF.
